there’s still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
it’s still a little hard to say what's going on
there’s still a little bit of your ghost your witness
there’s still a little bit of your face i haven't kissed
you step a little closer each day
that I can´t say what´s going on
stones taught me to fly
love, it taught me to lie
life, it taught me to die
so it's not hard to fall
when you float like a cannonball
there’s still a little bit of your song in my ear
there’s still a little bit of your words i long to hear
you step a little closer to me
so close that I can´t see what´s going on
stones taught me to fly
love taught me to lie
life taught me to die
'cos its not hard to fall,
and I don't want to scare her
its not hard to fall
and i don't want to lose
its not hard to grow
when you know that you just don't know
stones taught me to fly
love taught me to lie
life taught me to die
so its not hard to fall
when you float like a cannon.
stones taught me to fly
love taught me to cry
so come on courage, teach me to be shy
'cos its not hard to fall,
when you float like a cannon
-I love this song. Damien Rice is an Irish folk singer and all his songs have so much feeling. The way he describes things in his lyrics lets you know that his feeling are real and this has happened to him in some point in his life. His music is so real and when I listen to this song I feel like I can relate to him. This song has been on a few movie soundtracks but other than just a couple of other songs, he really is not that well known here in the U.S. This song is talking about how he has been hurt in the past and is wanting to love someone but can not get past his fear. He might be fearing that she does not feel the same for him if he expresses it to her and lose her or that he might get in to deep to get out. I think most people can relate to this subject because we have all worried about expressing our feelings to a guy or girl. Also the thrill of a new relationship that has both people on their toes. Its a wonderful feeling and a great time in all of our lives.
I have had the privileged to listen to few songs by Damien Rice. I was unaware that they were Irish singer and I assumed it was an American singer because I could not find the difference in their accent. All his songs have so much emotion packed into it and it hard not to listen to it intently. My other favorite songs from him are Volcano and blowers daughter. His songs are pretty mellow and feels like everything just slowed down bit for while. Their songs and music video are very beautifully composed and choreographed. Even though their songs are slow we can find a way to relate to it. And their lyrics are very touchy.
